I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants met personally to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
